Steven Karpel CFO

Steven Karpel is the Vice President of Finance and CFO of General Microgrids. Mr. Karpel has over 20 years of combined financial, sales, management and entrepreneurial experience. Mr. Karpel brings experience and training from the financial industry from companies such as Arthur Andersen and Morgan Stanley.



Mr. Karpel participated in management of distressed financial institutions, including an engagement with the Resolution Trust Corporation during the savings and loan crisis of the late 1980s through early 1990s.  Subsequent to working on a consulting engagement for the RTC, Mr. Karpel joined Arthur Andersen in the Financial and Economic Consulting Division at Arthur Andersen Worldwide providing analysis in a broad range of industries and companies. At Arthur Andersen, Mr. Karpel participated in the management of distressed corporations, as well as financial analysis for turnarounds, mergers & acquisitions, and capital fundraising. 



Mr. Karpel has been a key contributor to several start-ups. He was Director, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Financial Officer of Eurolink Securities Inc. and Director of Operations for Eurolink Network, Inc. in Madrid, Spain. Mr. Karpel’s responsibility was in the management of the company’s operations as well as compliance with U.S. regulatory authorities for both the parent company and the broker-dealer. 



Mr. Karpel was the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer for InterBolsa Securities, LLC, and he was responsible for the development of the U.S. operations of a prominent publicly traded South American financial institution which was seeking to expand its brand and services to the United States.



In addition, during the last 6 years, Mr. Karpel has been involved in various power generation projects, both traditional fossil fuel and renewable power generation, as a key participant and consultant. Renewable projects include wind, solar, biomass, and biofuels, as well as development of algae projects for biomass, waste water treatment, and agriculture purposes.
